Work is going reasonably well, and there’s no financial struggle.
Yet somehow, something feels unfulfilled.
Living day to day while carrying this vague feeling—
perhaps everyone experiences such a period at some point.
Mr. Suzuki, who lives in Tokyo and runs an advertising agency, visited nehan while in such a state.
When he heard “you’ll see your life flash before your eyes,” he thought “sounds fun”—it started with a light-hearted feeling.
Here, we trace Mr. Suzuki’s experience during his 2-night, 3-day stay at nehan.
Should Be Fulfilling, Yet…
Mr. Suzuki
Before coming, I didn’t really understand it well.
It was like, “you’ll see your life flash before your eyes”—oh, sounds fun—that was about it.
Mr. Suzuki didn’t have any particularly major concerns.
Mr. Suzuki
I’ve been doing reasonably well with work, not struggling financially.
But I’ve been carrying this feeling that somehow there’s no sense of fulfillment.
Life had no problems. But something wasn’t fulfilled.
He didn’t quite understand what that “something” was.
Mr. Suzuki
Like the reason why I spontaneously take action.
For example, I really love overseas travel, and before I know it, I’m looking at flight tickets.
I didn’t really understand why that was.
An irresistible urge to go abroad.
Not just to visit tourist spots, but to experience local life.
Carrying various “unknowns” within himself—his time at nehan begins.
What’s Truly Important Became Clear
At nehan, we combine specialized neurosensory music that shifts brainwave patterns with our unique Theta Breathing technique to naturally guide participants into meditative states.
What surfaces there are sensations and insights that wouldn’t emerge through thinking alone.
Mr. Suzuki
When doing work thinking about my parents,
I realized this is how I felt about them, or I should have said more things like this to them.
As the work continued, what emerged in Mr. Suzuki’s heart were thoughts of his parents and his wife.
Mr. Suzuki
During breathwork, when the narration said something like “think of someone precious to you,”
my wife and my parents immediately came to mind.
Mr. Suzuki
I realized that what’s truly important to me is my family.
Of course, if you think about it logically, family is important.
But the sensation that “immediately” surfaced as he deepened his breathing came not from logic, but from somewhere much deeper.
I Was Going to Meet My Soul
As he continued breathing, a mysterious experience came to Mr. Suzuki.
Mr. Suzuki
I have this irresistible love for overseas travel.
Not just wanting to visit tourist spots, but loving to live local life.
I want to eat Tom Yum Kung at a Thai street stall with an auntie sitting next to me.
I want to experience the exact same life as people living there.
I had this desire, and I never understood why.
The reason suddenly became clear during the breathing.
Mr. Suzuki
During this breathing, what I saw was
the lives of people all over the world, all kinds of lives.
It was like being possessed.
Mr. Suzuki
But the person appearing there wasn’t someone else—I felt it was me.
It’s a matter of sensation.
Though it sounds mysterious when put into words, for Mr. Suzuki, it was a sensation that deeply resonated.
In altered states of consciousness, different visions and sensations can arise for each person through unusual bodily functions. While this isn’t the goal itself, within that experience, one may receive important messages that only they can understand.
Mr. Suzuki
I don’t fully understand what this is ultimately,
but maybe my soul has been reincarnating with such people.
Mr. Suzuki
I see—wanting to travel abroad is going to meet my soul.
I know this might sound incomprehensible, but
it deeply resonated within me.
“Why do I want to travel?”
“Why am I drawn to local life?”
The answer came in an unexpected form.

A Sense of How to Live Going Forward
Mr. Suzuki
That really cleared things up for me.
I thought I want to travel much more, and I want to greatly increase the time I spend with my precious family.
Mr. Suzuki
It was really wonderful.
What he gained at nehan wasn’t an answer given by someone else, but a sensation that emerged from within himself.
Why does my soul move?
What truly matters?
When he understood the reason, something quietly settled within Mr. Suzuki.
“I’ll travel more.”
“I’ll spend more time with family.”
Perhaps he received here a sense of how to live going forward.
